The 32nd Annual NMLRA Eastern Primitive Rendezvous will open to the public on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 10:00am -5:00pm. On Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7, 2008 the Sutler area will be open to the public from 10:00am -5:00pm.

 

A $3.00 per adult fee will be charged to all public. Seniors over 65 will be charged $1.00. Children under 18 years and military with ID will be free of charge. Persons in approved pre-1840 dress may attend any day from 10:00am - 5:00pm at the posted public rates.

 

All NRLHF Rules will apply. Attendance at a primitive event means: ALL clothing, lodges and accoutrements must be in the period of 1640-1840 North America. Absolutely no modern footwear or sunglasses, unless medically required. Period eyewear is encouraged. Modern shooters eye and ear protection is allowed on the firing line only. All modern items (coolers, cans, bottles, plastic of ANY kind, cell phones, etc) must be kept out of sight at all times. Turn cell phone ringers to silent/vibrate mode while in camp.

 

No propane, kerosene heaters, Coleman lanterns and charcoal lighter fluids will be permitted. Food vendors are an exception and must abide by the Carroll County Board of Health (BoH) standards (further information for food vendors can be obtained by calling Carroll County BoH at 330-454-2078). Cover cameras when not in use, please do not use flash at any time.

Set-up

Pre-registered campers may set up beginning Wednesday, October 1 without paying an early set-up fee charge. Those who do not pre-register may also set up but will be charged $5.00 per person per day until the official start of the Rendezvous. Gate hours: 7:00am - 5:oopm. As always there will be a 1 hour limit for unloading and loading vehicles beginning at 7:00am, Saturday, October 4, 2008 through to closing ceremonies t 12:00pm Saturday, October 11, 2008. All vehicles must be out of camp one hour after the gate closes. You MUST be in period clothes once your canvas is up, and at all times in primitive camp from Saturday, October 4, through closing ceremonies at noon on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Modern camping will only be in the area allotted to modern camping, no camping will be permitted in the parking lots! No modern hook-ups will be available.

 

Please PRE-REGISTER! Deadline to pre-register is Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Pre-registering helps the staff plan and ensure the Rendezvous has enough sanitation, water as well as medallions and food for the camp feast. Your medallion will be required to enter the rendezvous at all times. Entry in any event or voting also requires your medallion.

 

Camping for the physically challenged will be located close to handicap parking. Special considerations will be made for those with medically required need of flammable liquids. You must have a handicap card. Let us know when you pre-register or during on-site registration if you require any further special needs.

 

No Animals other than horses and mules are permitted. Current health and negative Coggins Certificates will be required upon entering the gate. You are responsible for the health, safety and conduct of your animals. Make sure that your animals are tolerant of the sight, sounds and chaos that IS rendezvous! All tack, wagons, buggies and accessories must be period appropriate. No pets are allowed in the primitive area.

 

Food vendors should contact the Carroll County Board of Health at 330 627-4866 for license or call 330 454-2078 for information.

 

Sutlers are responsible for contacting the Ohio Department of Natural Resources at 330 644-2293 for information on the animal part(s) that can or cannot be sold within Ohio. You are also responsible for the collection and reporting of taxes or permits needed. Decisions on what or what is not period appropriate will be the sole decision of the Trade Captain.

 

Wood, water, portojohns and trash pick-up will be provided. Ice will be sold daily. Hot showers will be available in the main barn for a small fee.

 

There will be an Artillery Range at the 2008 EPR! The Artillery Captain will inspect and approve all cannons prior to firing.
