This pre-1840 event will offer black powder shoots, hawk & knife throws and primitive archery; as well as numerous demonstrations in and around the primitive farmstead. All clothing, lodges and accouterments MUST be in the period of 1640 – 1840 in North America. No modern footwear and sunglasses of any kind, unless medically required. Period eyewear is encouraged for those wearing eyeglasses. All modern items (coolers, bottles, cans, plastic, cell phones, etc.) must be kept out of site at all times. Absolutely no propane, kerosene heaters, Coleman lanterns or charcoal lighter fluid will be permitted. All NRLHF rules and regulations apply.
Pre-registration ends June 10th. You may pre-register on line at www.nrlhf.org. Early set up for participants will be July 8-10. Non pre-registered participants will pay an additional $5.00 per person, per day. Fees include medallion, all events, seminars, competitions and camp dinner.
Trade fee is $35.00, blanket fee is $10.00. These fees do not include the registration fee.
Gate hours: July 8 -12 from 8am – 5pm July 13 -17 from 8am – 10am and 4pm – 6pm
July 18 from 8am – 5pm
Rendezvous rules apply Saturday, July 11 through Saturday, July 18.
Camp dinner will be on Wednesday, July 15th. Please bring a dish to pass.
Modern Camping: will be available on site. There is an RV camp ground in Hickories, about 10 miles from the site. Call (607) 687-1199 for information.
Public visitation will be Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 from 9am – 5pm. A fee of $6.00 per person will be charged. Children 12 and under are free.

Sutlers: dealers and possessors of Furs, Feather and Claws, etc. must conform to city, state and
federal laws. It is your responsibility to get this information.

Firewood, water, porta-johns and trash pick up will be provided. Ice will be available for purchase.
Horses/Mules: You must present current health and Negative Coggins Certifications at the gate. The NRLHF will not provide feed or hay.
NO PETS will be permitted in the Primitive Area. Pleasant Valley Kennels is located at 5367 State Rt. 38, just 4 miles from the site. For information call (607) 642-8776.

All directions describe coming from the Owego, NY area. Take exit 64 from the Route 17 Expressway. Follow Rt. 17 into Owego, continuing North onto Rt. 96 toward Ithaca. Rt. 96 will meet Rt. 38. Continue straight onto Rt. 38, Northbound. The Bement Billings Farmstead is located one mile North of the traffic light in Newark Valley, on Rt. 38. It is on the Left (if traveling South on Rt. 38, it is on the Right a few miles after the town of Berkshire) and is visible from the roadside.

The Newark Valley Historical Society Office is located in the Village Municipal Building (above the Post Office) on Park Street in Newark Valley, NY. The turn to Park Street is one block South of the traffic light. If traveling North on Rt. 38, the building is on the Right. If traveling South, the building is on the Left.
