About the Site
The site is at the Shawnee’s former Pigeon Town—also surrounded by former Native American villages such as Mac-A-Cheek, Moluntha's Town, Blue Jacket's Town, Lewis' Town, Old Town, Stony Creek, Reed's Town, Zane's Town, Solomon's Town, Bokengehelas' Town, McKee's Town (home Alexander McKee, a British Indian agent and trader), and Wapatomica. Simon Kenton made this area his home, and Tecumseh, Simon Girty, and General Benjamin Logan walked this site.
It hosts the annual Call to Liberty Rendezvous held the last full weekend of July and the 3rd weekend of October. Long-term campers can camp in full shade with Stony Creek going through camp and within camp is the Stony Creek Reserve.
